Her research interests are intercultural skills, global citizenship skills, thicker democracy, positive peace, technological impact on globalizing society and decolonial education. She is currently researching transitional justice at the University of Oulu.

She is an immigration specialist working as the nationwide head of virtual teams for Arffman Oy, a company providing online integration training in Finnish for The Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. She has been working on integration and inclusion issues for over 20 years as part of national programs. She believes encounters are my never-ending source of inspiration!.
